MICDROP - COPY INSTALLATION (macOS)

Close all DAWs before updating and allow the previous helper to finish any
transfer and exit. Extract the entire ZIP, then run Install MicDrop.command.
An administrator password is only needed to copy into the system plugin folders.
There is no setup wizard, Engine installation, login item or LaunchAgent.

VST3: /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/MicDrop.vst3
AU: /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/MicDrop.component

Alternatively, copy the complete bundles into those folders yourself. For a
current-user installation, run: bash "Install MicDrop.command" --user
This uses ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3 and Components. Avoid duplicate user/system
versions; DAWs may scan both locations and select the older copy.

Keep each bundle intact. Its engine is inside Contents/Helpers and is launched
automatically when MicDrop is loaded in a DAW. Do not launch it manually.
Recordings and pairing configuration are not deleted or changed by installation.
The helper exits after the final plugin lease disappears and active work ends.

Rescan/restart the DAW after copying. AU caches may require a logout or restart.
Connect the phone and computer to the same trusted Wi-Fi or phone hotspot.
For internet collaboration, open Remote Session in the plugin, exchange private
invitation/reply files, compare the security code and approve the singer. Sending
requires verified Android Pro access. No TURN relay is used; some networks cannot
connect directly. See Remote Session.md and Third Party Notices in this package.
macOS may request permission for incoming connections or local-network access.
Copying plugins cannot bypass these OS protections. Do not disable your firewall
or Gatekeeper; use a signed/notarized distribution for public downloads.

Uninstall by closing DAWs and deleting the installed plugin bundles. Old plugins
are retained under /Library/Application Support/MicDrop/Plugin Backups (or the
equivalent current-user Library path) for recovery. A legacy PKG installation
may also have an external helper/LaunchAgent. If cleaning that up, run its old
uninstaller BEFORE copying the new plugins: it removes plugin folders too.
Copy installation does not modify unrelated legacy services.

This local build is Apple Silicon/arm64 and ad-hoc signed, not notarized.
